Well, after a long and frustrating bout with the US Postal Service, I
came to the conclusion that my package from Walmart.com (containing my
wife's coveted Highway Construction Set for something approaching a
reasonable price) is gone.  Where, I have no idea.  Shipped on the 16th,
delivered to the North Reading MA package center on the 21st, vanished
somewhere between there and the Lowell post office.

Anyway, I reluctantly called to ask for a refund, and the guy I spoke
with asked if I wanted them to try shipping again.  Of course, they were
out of the HCS, but he did offer me 10% off and free overnight
shipping...so the wife will have to be content with a Railway Express
(which in my estimation is much cooler than the Highway Construction set
anyway).

My point is that walmart.com took a potentially bad situation and worked
through it to make me, the customer, not only not upset but very happy,
and I wanted to give them some credit, especially since most of the
customer service people I've dealt with in the past few weeks (MCI
Worldcom in particular - *grumble*) have been rude, annoying and
unhelpful.

So, thanks to Shelley and Matt at walmart.com.

I had a similar experience that I posted about under the original thread about the Wal-Mart sale. I failed to get the TIE even though I was one of the first people to order the set, in fact all my stuff came three to fours days later than everyone (...)
