Re: Announcing the Brickwise[tm] Shopping Report

(...) An alternative to colors or shapes would be to use images of box outlines that are proportionally filled based on the percentages. For items at greater than 100% show a full box with a "+" in it. About 5-6 different images would be all that is (...) (24 years ago, 7-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

The windows in the new movie set: They seem to be clear, even though they look brown in the picture, right? Anyway, does anyone know any sets that have them cheap (UNDER the $170 price range?) Discounting the police set, that has them in green. (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

RE: Secret Agent Theme for 2001? (was: Re: New S@H Catalog)

(...) Well, when talking to the staff at a computer games shop in Broadmeadows last weekend, I was told that there was a Lego "Alpha team" game coming out...no release date, but $49.95 'tis a pity LA can't seem to get accuracy between the program (...) (...) I'm really looking forward to this new theme. But since it's Alpha Team in North America, and Action Team everywhere else (see my post at (URL) ), what are we going to call it on Lugnet? I agree - if it's just basic bricks, lets build it ourselves. Who's going buy one anyways and will make the instructions available?   Re: Secret Agent Theme for 2001? (was: Re: New S@H Catalog)

(...) Ha! Ha!. The OV-10 has been adapted to do crop spraying, and has been alleged to have flown over Cuba. They are a nice little plane, with a 110 cf extra space that could be used much like a lysander, for carrying "things" around. (the space is (...)   Re: New S@H Catalog - Pictures

I agree, for $150 you can buy close to 7 basic 1200 blue tubs and build a few of these things. I would have been much more intersted if they had kept the slopes and arches in the set. jt (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.general)

Re: New S@H Catalog - Pictures

You can probably build one of those things (or a close equivalent) with a few tubs at a third the cost. I would have considered buying something like the prototype, with lots of slopes, but I can't see any reason to buy the production model. I feel (...)   Re: Secret Agent Theme for 2001? (was: Re: New S@H Catalog)

Bah. The OV-10 is just an observation plane. You can bet they never sent an OV-10 to fly over the former Soviet Union and take pictures of things they weren't supposed to see. :^D ~M (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.general)

Re: Secret Agent Theme for 2001? (was: Re: New S@H Catalog)

(...) One thing that stands out here...the common US "secret agent" plane right now would be a OV10D, or a MC130 Herk...so, it being piston engined is no big deal. The WW2 eq. was the Lysander, which is a single engined piston plane... It helps that (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.general)

(...) Hmm.. I just don't see it. To me, a secret agent should ooze "cool" and this li'l thing just doesn't, IMO. For reference, go watch the opening sequence of "Octopussy."
