  Re: Wal-Mart Clearance Question + K-mart Question

(...) In my experience in Northern California, WMs are extremely unpredictable when it comes to discounting. I have seen or heard of a number of cases where a store will have a huge number of one set, but instead of marking them down they'll keep (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Wal-Mart Clearance Question + K-mart Question

(...) They _can_ keep going down, and usually will. Not always in the organized, across-the-country fashion Target does, though. And no, the NFF will drop, I'd say, to $25 or less if given time. I got 6 or 8 6769's for $25 at WM. (25 years ago, 8-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Slim Pickings at Target

My Wal-Mart (Katy, Texas) has them at 19.95 yet. They say they aren't marking them down because they will return them. George Mike Walsh <mike_walsh@mindspring.com> wrote in message news:FnzEvp.GzG@lugnet.com... (...) but (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.fl)

  Wal-Mart Clearance Question + K-mart Question

Just out of experience ... Do Wal-Marts have a 2nd reduction phase, or will the prices tend to stay the same on all clearance items? Will the Ninja Flying Fortesses stay at $59.00 until all are sold? Also - the only SW sets at K-mart right now from (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: What is clearance fodder and what isn't?

(...) In the case of Target, I believe that 'clearance' pricing is generated by three corp parts: national, regional, & store. Most of the prior Target clearances seem to have been 'regional' (possibly suggested by national), with certain regions (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  S@H Note

I called Lego S@H on thurs (1-6-00) during normal business hours and the sales person told me that the specials were discontinued on the 31st of December. Needless to say i was kinda surprised. I waited about five minutes, called back, and this time (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: The Motherlode! (Was: Re: Target second round of reductions)

(...) Too late, I did the first--consolidated at a 2 set : 1 box rate among like items. It all fit, and I could even see out my back window and into my blind-spots. The stores were 8 Mile and Van Dyke, Detroit (8500 8 Mile), and Northland Mall, (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.mi.det)

  Re: Shut out at Target!

(...) That's the first level of discount. Tie/Ys and DDKs are at that level; wait a week. (...) Those Droid Fighters were not popular. When nothing else remained, the Droid Fighters were still there--darn brown wing POOPs (hmmm, that doesn't sound (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

What is clearance fodder and what isn't?

This applies to Target only. Well maybe everyone else knew this... but at all the detroit area Targets, the shelf tags tell the tale. The "real" LEGO area has shelf tags. At this stage of the game, it seems that if a set had a shelf tag (either in (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: LEGO Outlet in Georgia

Glad you scored! I too noticed the Pirates and Islanders stuff, but I'm not really in to those series, so I passed. My big score yesterday was mainly technic, plus I picked up the last 5561 they had for $60. I had been coveting this set for a while, (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)
