(...) I think it's a reasonable idea. As Ray mentions, that's a cheaper rate than the USPS charges. Of course, my feeling is that a buisiness would score points for eating the cost out of their proffits. As a buyer, I've sort of felt that I really (...)   "Self Insurance" on packages

I noticed on anotehr seller's eBay auctions that they charge a 50c "Self insurance" fee on each package, and promise to refund up to $50 if the package is lost. This seems like an interesting idea since most of my packages go out at the "Small (...) (24 years ago, 23-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.market.shipping)

To All, Well, I use bubble mailers with ziplock snack size bags for most of my shipments, I switched over to Priority mail for obvious reasons with the small boxes now (VBery good of ther postal service to have this, IMO), but I have had no (...) (...) <snip> (...) <snip> (...) OK, I did some calling around. I can get 4x6x2 corrugated cardboard mailers for about 40-cents each (100 qty). Do these sound sufficient ? Is that size too small for typical parts sales ? Ray Sanders #124 (24 years ago, 20-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.shipping)

  Big scales anyone ?

[this probably should be in .market.buy-sell-trade, but since the charter for .market.shipping mentions scales... ] About two months ago I won an auction at a USPS surplus depot for a 'lot' of scales. These are the *big* postal scales that vary in (...) (24 years ago, 14-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.shipping)

(...) Good pointer Frank, but you forgot to add the important point that if you go there and look at the tariff schedule, Steve, you will find that there is indeed no duty.   Re: Envelopes are NOT enough (was Re:...never receive your package?

(...) Most of the packages I receive are person-to-person and in the $20-$40 range. When I talked to my mailman last week, he agreed with me that there seemed to be a much larger group of packages getting tagged by Customs recently. <shrug> Maybe (...)
