[this probably should be in .market.buy-sell-trade, but since the charter for
.market.shipping mentions scales... ]
About two months ago I won an auction at a USPS surplus depot for a 'lot' of
scales. These are the *big* postal scales that vary in age from 1957 to 1980.
They are the counter top scales that were used to weigh packages being tendered
for shipment. While I have sold a few of them locally, I still have 4 or 5
looking for a good home. Each scale weighs packages up to 70 lbs. The scales
themselves weigh in at about 65 lbs. They are referred to by the postal people
as a 'fan scale' (because of the large fan shaped head on them).
For more information and/or pictures, please email me.
