  Re: PayPal Changes

In lugnet.market.services, Julie Krenz writes: <snippage> (...) <more snippage> (...) OK, theres a couple of thing about this that bug me... First, PayPal is taking a variable amount (see above) on an inbound payment. Part of that inbound payment (...) (24 years ago, 9-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.services)

  Re: PayPal Changes

(...) Below is the email I received from them. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with this, and if they don't change it, I will make sure to tell many people to avoid them. I will wait a few more days to see if they will change it (not (...) (24 years ago, 9-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.services)

Re: Checks strongly discouraged for Factoring for the next few weeks

Who is Josette?? Can you get more training for her? or, as a last resort, replace her with someone else? :-) (I think I know the answers already) Paul Sinasohn LUGNET #115 FUT: lugnet.off-topic.fun (...) (24 years ago, 9-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.services)

  Re: PayPal Changes

(...) Yes, merchants can choose a servicing agent or bank. There are lots out there. Even Costco is getting into the act, contracting with a servicer to provide CC service to executive memebers for 1.75% (or maybe less - I didn't notice). Other than (...)   Re: Upcoming factoring changes due to PayPal fee structure.

(...) Charging a simple fee is tempting but based on my analysis not practical. I still have to allocate the fee among myself and the factoree(s) involved and in some cases the exchange rate haircut that one factoree or the other takes exceeds the (...)   Re: Upcoming factoring changes due to PayPal fee structure.

(...) Hmm...have you considered charging an overhead-covering fee of, say, the lower of 5% or $5.00? If I needed to send someone in Europe $75.00 and I could pay you $78.75 via PayPal to make that happen, then in the absense of direct P2P (...) (24 years ago, 8-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.services)

Re: Upcoming factoring changes due to PayPal fee structure.

(...) Since you already know the amount Paypal is going to eat I suggest you simply add that amount to the factoring fees you are currently charging. However, since they can be quite large that might make people use paper (cheques/MO's) more, so you (...) (24 years ago, 8-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.services)

Checks strongly discouraged for Factoring for the next few weeks

As with when I went to Zurich, processing factoring checks will be difficult for me while I am in the UK which is carded to last 5-6 weeks. So, as I did before, I am surcharging factoring checks with the "Josette handling fee" on receipt, and the (...) (24 years ago, 8-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.services)

Upcoming factoring changes due to PayPal fee structure.

I think I am going to have to institute some factoring changes beyond the rebalancing I alluded to earlier. PayPal is very convenient. The upcoming changes in PayPal mean that they are essentially creating two classes of money. Unless I refuse to (...) (24 years ago, 8-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.services)
