    Wish List —James Cunningham
I am listing all the sets that I would like to purchase from anyone who is willing to part with them. I would prefer to buy the items outright as that I am attempting to expand my town and I do not have extras of any of my sets although I do have a (...)    (...) You may need to go a *little* higher than that. For instance: (...) the Lugnet set database lists this as 139.99 MSRP. I have paid the following (working from memory, prices are approximate) for some of my copies: (all prices in USD, and do (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

        Re: Wish List —Dave Johann
(...) When I say the list and started closely looking at the set numbers, I was annoyed, then disgusted. MSRP is WAY too low for the bulk of the sets listed. If the sets weren't, on average, 10 years old, then the prices asked might be reasonable, (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

        Re: Wish List —Geoffrey Hyde
Well, I'm not sure about your theory, but I've seen a lot of Americans who'd rather trade than sell. As for asking a little more than MSRP, some of the sets listed are difficult to obtain, but for the number of pieces in them, getting them at (...) But, I am very open to negotiation over how much the set would sell for as I do recognize the fact that some are very old sets. I wold (...)       (...) James: I can't speak for Dave... but I certainly wasn't *insulted* by your request. Merely bemused. I posted my reply in hopes of helping you better understand the marketplace. Rare old town sets are expensive. That's just the way it is. And (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) No, actually, what you said was this: (...) and that's not a statement I can agree with. If a set is "difficult to obtain" expecting to pay just MSRP++ is unrealistic. So is using it as a trade value. If you still want to quibble, name a (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

         Re: Wish List —Dave Johann
(...) Ok, ok....so I came off a wee bit harder than I meant to. I meant to come across as pointing out that MSRP (or below) on the recent sets is fine, but when you are talking about sets older than 5 years, 200-500% of MSRP may factor into the (...)         Re: Wish List —Mike Stanley
(...) The good old Town sets go for the same ridiculous prices as the good old Space and Castle and Pirate sets. Nobody's gonna sell an Airport Shuttle for anywhere near MSRP. Won't happen. Just like nobody's going to sell a Guarded Inn for $20. But (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
