Re: FA: (eBay) Darth Vader Minifig (Dutch) x8

(...) I do know what a Dutch auction is, Dan. Have experimented with them on eBay and don't like them - if I have 8 of something to sell I prefer to do them in series. By "all at once" I meant "all at the same time" not "all in one batch": having 8 (...) (25 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: Bid retractions (was Re: eBay dead again)

Re: Bid retractions (was Re: eBay dead again)

(...) No. When the high bid is retracted, the next highest bid will only be $.50 (or whatever the bid increment is) above the bid BELOW it. So if I bid $1.50, then you bid $30.00, then someone else bids $31.00 and retracts it, you only have to beat (...) (25 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: Bid retractions (was Re: eBay dead again)

(...) Hi Mike, I'm trying to understand how things are happening... When someone retracts a bid, the high bid should go to the next highest bidder, right?   Re: eBay dead again

Hi Frank, this is a guess but the problem could have been the pipe( internet link equipment) that connects to Ebay. sometimes I cant get to Ebay via my AOL account but when I use my other ISP it goes right thru. It's pretty frustrating when you (...) (25 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: eBay dead again

(...) You'd think that. I got outbid in an auction recently and didn't get a notice.   Re: eBay dead again

(...) Crud. I wonder if they're blocking certain addresses. I haven't been able to get a peep out of the eBay site for over an hour now. I guess I won the auctions I was concerned about since I haven't got an outbid notice. (25 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: FA: (eBay) Darth Vader Minifig (Dutch) x8

You're right, but in this case I'm not trying to suck as much money out of people as possible. :-) $7.50 seems about the right price. Even better way to sell these for as much as possible would be to auction off 1 Darth Vader and then e-mail all the (...) (25 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: FA: (eBay) Darth Vader Minifig (Dutch) x8

You WILL get a lower price Dutch than selling them in individual lots, virtually guaranteed. What you seem to forget is that if you set 8 Dutch at $7.50 beginning price, that means 8 people can bid $7.50 each before any prices change. If you auction (...)
