  Appraisal of old legos 011, 044, 346, 350, 431

I was inspired by Eric Harshbarger's page (a friend sent me a picture of the desk!) to pull out my old and very much loved Legos. Surprisingly I found several sets still complete with instructions and boxes and was wondering if someone out there (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Set #2181

What's the approximate value of this set MISB? Thanks, -dead (24 years ago, 10-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: WHAT THE...

(...) Actually, I don't think there is anything special about that, it can be done with doors of that type. The stickers and the bank minifig are the rarest things in this set. (that is I think they are). -dead (...) (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: WHAT THE...

(...) Yeah, I realise that, but in most cases when I see a set go for that much over it's initial MSRP it's because there are appeals for more than one segment of collectors in it: IE, there are the people who collect sets just to collect them, (...)   Re: WHAT THE F@#$%??!?!?!

(...) not worth that much to me as much as I would like to add it to my collection. But I can think of a few reasons why someone would be willing to pay such a high amount for such a simple but somewhat rare set (in the US). 1. Some people just have (...)   Re: WHAT THE...

Some people don't collect sets for the pieces :) Like some very tiny space sets that we've seen go for over $100, because someone needed it to be complete... I'm not suggesting that's what going on here... but some people have to have 1 of every (...) (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: WHAT THE...

(...) No, I still don't get it. I can't see an pieces in it that aren't available elsewhere.... eric (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: WHAT THE...

I've seen it go for about $100 before... seems that it's not auctioned that frequently either... maybe that's why? (...) (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Expert 8848 appraisal request

Hello! I am wondering if anyone could help me determine a fair market value for an Expert Lego set 8848 (Dumptruck with Front Loader).   Re: What would a 395 fetch on ebay?

(...) I paid about $150 for my first and about the same for my second copy of 395. If you have the box in good condition, they will go for more. Paul Sinasohn LUGNET # 115 (24 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

What would a 395 fetch on ebay?

I have my old set 395 with the box and instructions. To this day, I have never seen anyone else even mention this set, ever. Nor have I seen it on ebay. All the pieces are there, a couple have yellowed slightly, and the box has a few creases. I (...) (24 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Re: Monitoring auctions for street value?

Re: Monitoring auctions for street value?

(...) yah, it has fallen out of date some, and now I would consider all the data gathered there useless.... esp since we don't know how many auctions we missed.
