I had some luck today at the ARC Thrift Store on Austin Bluffs.  They sell
bags of toys and I looked through them hoping to find some loose pieces.  To
my surprise and excitement, I found 3 small sets, all in original unopened
packaging, and a small array of loose pieces.  Here's what I got:

I haven't checked thrift stores in a looooong time.  Maybe I should start
doing that again.  The last time I went to a thrift store the only thing
they had that even resembled Lego was some of those giant generic bricks.
I've got a buddy that buys almost everything from goodwills and ARCs, I'll
have to start going with him... <G>
