Interlocking lever frame (was: Working Signal Box and Signals)

(...) What, you mean like this? (URL) half-wondered if it was possible when I wrote the original post, but when I saw your reply, I knew I'd have to have a go. It's drawn in MLCAD, but it works, the locking table has been built and added on to my (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic)

Re: Request For Comments: Proposal to set up a club for UK Fans of LEGO

(...) I think fundamentally what we need is a method of electing representatives of the membership, making decisions as a group or as delegated to the representatives, but most importantly a way of ensuring that members will abide by the outcome of (...)   Re: Request For Comments: Proposal to set up a club for UK Fans of LEGO

Yep. If expenses are outside the remit of the club, everyone will have to meet their own. If this was in the constitution, another part could say if it was decided at some point that funds were required for a project, a one off subscription could be (...)   Re: Request For Comments: Proposal to set up a club for UK Fans of LEGO

I have to agree - I don't think we need any formal organisation. Lugnet works just fine. I specifically don't want to elect a committee or pay a subscription. Sorry folks. Nathaniel (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Request For Comments: Proposal to set up a club for UK Fans of LEGO

I wonder if a lot of this can be avoided by not having subscriptions or any accounts at all. We manage perfectly well so far with everyone handling their own transport costs, and organising venues based on contributions on the day. Jason J Railton (22 years ago, 12-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Thanks for this, Kerry. It raises a lot of good points. Apologies for you getting your own personal copy of this. More comments below. In lugnet.loc.uk, Kerry Raymond writes: <snip> (...) *some* of these things can be done. At the moment the UK (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

(...) I was wondering when someone would ask that very question :-) (...) A lot of these things can be done without formalising anything. A lot of these things can be done on LUGnet already. Formalising things has a price (in a number of ways). (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Clone Trooper Crazy!!

Hi all After seeing the incredible price that Jon just raised for 8 Clone Troopers, I only hope there's a bin full of the little buggers in Lego Heaven at the Red Letter day. Coz I'll take a kilo! Cheers Mark (22 years ago, 11-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Announcing the next LEGO Modelmaking Experience at LEGOLAND Windsor

There are now just 14 places left on this experience -- 2 in the morning and 12 in the afternoon. If you're thinking of attending but haven't yet booked, I suggest you do so soon. For more details and information on booking a place, please see (URL) (22 years ago, 11-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.announce)

(...) Very neat! And I see no reason why these couldn't run over fairly long distances! And for your next project, some mechanical interlocking on that signal box would be *really* neat 8?) ROSCO (22 years ago, 11-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.trains)

Re: Working Signal Box and Signals

I *like* it! True model railway wire in tube actuation. By strange coincidence, I ordered a pile of flex bits at the weekend. I think I'll have a go. The lighting doesn't show up very well, but the concept is magnificent. I think I'll have a go at (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.trains)

  Working Signal Box and Signals

That's the big question. What would you like it to do? The first thing that comes to mind, following recent discussions here and elsewhere, is that it will be the conduit for discussions between 'us' (AFOLs in the UK) and 'them' (any other (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Ok. This is something that the steering committee could pick up. Perhaps I should have put something in about proxy voting :-) Again, the SC could put this in its proposal. Regarding the Steering committee, I have already said, but will reiterate, (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.uk)
