Lawrence,
we only have ourselves to blame. They will work out the costs based on how
much they think they will sell at any given price. No doubt, if the UK
bought more Lego trains we may well get them a fraction cheaper.

That's just not true.  All the S@H stuff comes from one central place, so
the whole of Europe is just one market.  There's no national segmentation.
The only difference between countries is shipping costs, and we pay the
various shipping rates separately anyway.

You appear to be saying they s@h only? Are they? If they are then, other
than tax differences they should be the same. But despite that, my 1st
sentence still holds true - supply & demand!

This thread was discussing the prices of the new train wagons, which are
exclusive to S@H.  So, apart from tax and shipping costs, there shouldn't be
a difference.  But, they probably match the on-line prices to shop prices
which are so affected.  The real rip-off is that you still have to pay RRP
to buy direct from the supplier.

This is a good point. I expect it is more to do with keeping TRU/Argos
happy, that it is with keeping us happy. :(

I am just happy they are making these sets, rather than more like the 4560
style sets.

I'm glad to see them too, but I'm tired of things showing up all over the
website as 'not available'.  They plug the wagons, dinosaurs and sand-red
bricks on the main page of shop.lego.com, but none of these have prices and
all are listed as 'not available'.

In the case of the dinosaurs - I am not concerned.

Well, two out of three ain't bad.
