Sopwith Camel: Model Team by any other name... —Huw Millington
It arrived today, in typical monochrome 'scuplture' box. The instructions are traditional 3 dimensional drawings (on lower than normal quality paper) and there is no cover photograph. I have built it already, and without doubt this is a 'Model Team' (...) (23 years ago, 16-May-01, to lugnet.loc.uk)

I have to agree with everything Huw says - it's a really excellent set. The radial engine is particularly nice. It's a shame the strings on the wings aren't taut but, like Huw says, a little tweakery may be possible here. Unless I'm mistaken this is (...) (23 years ago, 18-May-01, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Let's face it, the Sopwith is from another millennium now! Nearly a century old. Remember (...) (23 years ago, 18-May-01, to lugnet.loc.uk)

I think the idea of no military sets extended to plausible reality. The space and medieval / fantasy are far enough removed from reality the adventure sets have dinosaurs / mummies and although they are around the right period they are not actuallty (...)      Assembled my Camel after grotesque seven hour Guinness session. Awoke this morning to find, to my suprise, it was recognisably an olde worlde biplane. 1. slack rigging is annoying 2. um, 7-8 bits left over?! 3. agree with Huw that it was *madness* (...)      (...) The wings on real planes often do bow upward a bit. This makes them self correcting when inadvertantly banked. No idea (I haven't gotten my copy yet) if that is a designed in feature or just luck. (23 years ago, 18-May-01, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Sopwith Camel: Model Team by any other name... —Jonathon Goldsworthy
I just rotated the pieces at the end of the strings, until they were taut. I do like these sculptures. As long as they're not released too frequently, and the quality doesn't drop off, it's likely to be the only series in which I remain complete. I (...) (23 years ago, 19-May-01, to lugnet.loc.uk)
