Like Scott, I was not sure what to expect from the programme, although while
the ship was quite impressive, in some ways it had scope for improvement. I
felt that the bow would look much smother using plates rather than bricks, but
maybe he did not have enough. Similarly, I would have tried to design the bow
to lift up rather than open outwards? Obviously it easy to criticise and it
does demonstrate ingenuity.

It may put Conrad's 25,000 bricks to shame, but it was compareable with my
sack of loose bricks, weight approx 1 ton, size 1 cubic metre. What with
around 350 sets, I estimate am nearing that figure! . Only I'm not at all
organised. I have been sorting my stuff on and off for nearly 4 years and I am
not even 50% organised yet!

Another good point about the programme was that it did not mention prices, so
we need not fear inflated car boot prices!

I also sympathise with the guy when he says biuling is a good stress reliever
and its therapeutic!

One thing did occurr, does this guy know about lugnet? and the fests? - should
the UK collective try to contact him?

Regards,

Jason

Didn't see any trains - most of the other models they showed were Technic, and I spotted a Mindstorms robot in one shot. The ship was incredible - was it 300,000 pieces he estimated? That's out of a total collection of 1 million! Puts my 25,000 to (...) (24 years ago, 27-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)
