  Re: Hailfire/New MINI's in Canada?

Well, after finally finding the Hailfire Drois at TRU in Yonge St in downtown TO, I called S@H and added teh MINI's to my outstanding order for 4502 and 10123. Yes, this can be done. I ordered 10123 when it was available, then called and added 4502 (...) (21 years ago, 11-Sep-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Hailfire/New MINI's in Canada?

(...) Yup. Pretty much the same deal as last fall, I believe. Free shipping with any order over $99. Last year, several people in my office, including me, went together to place two big orders both well over 99 dollars. That way everyone gets free (...)   Re: Hailfire/New MINI's in Canada?

(...) Or, while the Canadian dollar is still strong, order them for less from Shop at Home. There's a free shipping deal on for Canada right now, if memory serves correctly. Retail on these is $10 CAD each. I saw them at TRU (briefly) in the summer, (...) (21 years ago, 8-Sep-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) I can suggest: Float test (if it floats, you failed) Radiator Test (smash it against the radiator until it breaks) Drop Test (out the window- just make sure no-one is below it) Bulletproof test (only if you vote for the alliance, in which (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.loc.ca.on)

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) You can use it as a good firewall. That's what we use for our home network - an old 486, with (less than [1]) 8Mb of RAM, and ~200M disk space... And it's the firewall for ~8 machines at any given time, doing pretty smart stuff, with an (...) (21 years ago, 1-Sep-03, to lugnet.loc.ca.on)

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) I have heard of people running linux on tired iron like this (there's even a linux on a floppy distribution, I hear, that's already set up to do this) and using the box as a firewall/dhcp server between the outside world and the rest of your (...)   Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) This reminds me of when as a student I went on a work experience assignment with a computer company and my home computer was more powerful than anything they had. They then bought a 486 33mhz server. I wondered at the time if it was just so (...) (21 years ago, 1-Sep-03, to lugnet.loc.ca.on)

  486-33 8Mb

I got this 486 - 33Mhz with 8Mb RAM that taking up too much space and all I can think of using it for is a boat anchor and forgetting to put a rope on it. So if anyone can think of a use for it, or would like to have it, let me know. You have until (...) (21 years ago, 1-Sep-03, to lugnet.loc.ca.on)

  Re: Sears Wishbook is out

(...) I wasn't really thinking of the decals (there are other issues with those) so much as just the name of the set itself. You said the key word in your last sentence... 'Apollo'. This is really an Apollo mission set. The Saturn V is just once (...) (21 years ago, 31-Aug-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Sears Wishbook is out

(...) Allan, I didn't find that as odd as the extra decals left over after assembly. I checked the instructions and they don't show placement of five decals - 3 NASA logos and 2 US flags, but some pictures in among the literature show the NASA (...) (21 years ago, 31-Aug-03, to lugnet.loc.ca)
