[rtlToronto] rtlToronto Makes the Front Page. Literally.

The December 22nd, 2002 Sunday edition of the Toronto Star features a Lego brick mosaic of the paper's banner, in place of the normal banner on the top of the front page. It also includes a detailed article about rtlToronto and Lego enthusiasts in (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.announce, lugnet.mediawatch) !!

  Re: Toronto Star tomorrow...

In lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, Allan Bedford writes: <snip> (...) (URL) a boo! <snip> (...) I agree--LEGO should always be in caps, some like to put the (r) afterwards, and I should start... but too lazy ;) Dave (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Toronto Star tomorrow...

(...) Actually, the article is in today's printed version of the Sunday Star (Dec 22). Here's the link to the online version: (URL) found it not on the front page, but rather under the GTA section. Also, here's a try at one of those referenced (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Toronto Star tomorrow...

(...) COOL! Anyone scan it, or is there an online edition of the Star that features it? I found their site www.thestar.com but it's on the 22nd already, and didn't (in 2 min of searching) find how to see yesterday. (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Toronto Star tomorrow...

(...) I got my copy. The amazing thing is that from even a short distance, you wouldn't notice anything unusual about the logo. Very well done! (...) Nice fire station Dave. Have you posted pics of it online before? If so, I've missed it until now. (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: TRU 50% off selected themes

I think it's a CAnada only thing, but it's quite nice to see them still honouring 50% off soccer, when they already have a few items marked down 35% off. Woman's Soccer team for < 5 CAD, is a steal! (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Toys R Us Canada -- December 21, 2002

(...) My sister got one for her significant other, I didn't see the need for a new one, as I had the old one. At $35 it's not a bad deal-at full price ($70) it's a little bit harder to justify. (...) No, just reporting in case someone was wondering. (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: TRU 50% off selected themes

(...) Well, when I went to Toys R Us in Oregon I did NOT get a 50% discount on my "Jack Stone" or "Life on Mars" sets. I did get the buy one, get one 50% off deal though. Maybe the 50% select themes only applies for Canada? (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Any 2003 set sightings in Canada yet?

(...) Yep. Educational stores like Mastermind Toys and Explora-toy have the new sets, and things seem to be showing up at Toys R us. It's Star Wars, Orient Expedition and NBA that's appearing. -Greg (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.loc.ca)
