  Re: Next Sears Sale

(...) 14th. (...) I went yesterday and got an AT-ST for $3.80 including tax. :-) They did not have too many 2001 sets but with my gift certificate I think I did pretty good, eh? Jude (24 years ago, 3-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Zeller 25% Off Soccer Sets Tomorrow

Hi, Just thought I'd mention that soccer theme sets will be 25% off at Zellers tomorrow (Wednesday, January 3) if you pay with a Bay or Zellers card. They are 15% off starting last Saturday and you get another 10% off Wednesday only if you pay by (...) (24 years ago, 3-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  SW Buckets at TRU

I took a trip to the TRU at Lawrence and VicPark this morning and noticed that they have a fair number (15-20) of the SW buckets (7159). Well... 7 less now that I've been there. I know that many people hate these buckets but at $14.98 I think (...) (24 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.ca.on.tor)

Re: DUTY? (was Re: Canadian Online Toy Purchases....)

(...) G'day Tim, I can help here with things in-bound from the USA. Because of NAFTA, most items (including LEGO) can be imported into Canada from the USA with no duty charges (tariffs). The condition is that the item must be "made in the USA". For (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: DUTY? (was Re: Canadian Online Toy Purchases....)

Duty should not be a problem on LEGO. I've bought from USA and Europe (France). When they come through Borderfree, they act as the broker and classify them properly -- duty free. The only charge is GST/PST as in Canada. If you purchase from someone (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

DUTY? (was Re: Canadian Online Toy Purchases....)

Hey I haven't actually looked into this as of the time I'm replying but this sounds really cool! I now have another question, however..... What is the deal with paying "duty" on items and how is it determined? I can't seem to find out much info on (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Next Sears Sale

(...) Well, you didn't have to wait long... Sears is having a 20% off all Lego from Wednesday, Jan 3rd to Sunday, Jan 14th. Have fun and don't forget to give me half your purchases for the info ;-D Kev Z MonLUG #3 (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Canadian Online Toy Purchases....

Hello, I got tired of trying to find Canadian online Lego sellers that were competitive...I've been purchasing "sale" merchandise from eToys, Walmart, etc. through a service in Canada called Borderfree (www.borderfree.com). They act as a broker for (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Canadian Online Toy Purchases....

(...) Try... Toad Hall Toys, a toyshop located in Winnipeg. (URL) the East Coast Model Center, on PEI. (URL) the two I know of straightaway. Neither actually deal in Lego, I mostly know of them through my digging for Rokenbok. You did, afterall, ask (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Canadian Online Toy Purchases....

(...) Try these Tim: (URL) are web extensions of regular brick & mortar shops. Most aren't megachains like TRU either. There was a new etailer that opened out of BC, but as I recall they still did everything in US dollars, so the prices were nutso (...) (24 years ago, 28-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Canadian Online Toy Purchases....

What sorts of online Toy Stores are there that are Canadian if any? I mean ones that del in Canadian Dollars and are based in Canada and ship from Canada. Actually I'm not really interested just in their LEGO department but also any other toys. (24 years ago, 28-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Next Sears Sale

If anyone happens to notice when Sears has a sale on LEGO please post to .loc.ca so I can use a gift certificate I got for Christmas. (I realize their retail prices are higher than average but when on sale I can do pretty good with the gift (...) (24 years ago, 28-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Boxing day (non) sales.

(...) Umm...Dunno. :) I'm thinking of doing a sweep tonight through all the Edmonton Walmarts to see if any of them have any 1200 piece tubs left... I can swing by a TRU and see about the X-Wing for you. James (24 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Boxing day (non) sales.

(...) You mean the $32 X-Wing is back? I still need one of those! When does that sale end? (24 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: TRU & Cookstown

(...) You may have missed it. The one time during the year the entry level train goes for sale is during the month before Christmas with Zellers. It drops down to $91 or so. It might also be low this month, if there are extras. Sometimes there's a (...) (24 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Re: Boxing day (non) sales.

(...) Well, no, but in general, Boxing Day has been assumed part of the marketing/sales plan for most retail stores. There are rarely deals for electronics or anything else big ticket. Clothes are probably a better option, as are Christmas ornaments (...) (24 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Boxing day (non) sales.

So was anyone else seriously cheesed about having gotten up early on Boxing day to find diddly squat for Lego sales? Nothing. Not Walmart, not Zellers, not Sears or the Bay, nothing at TRU. Nothing. Nada. Zip. TRU had the same things on sale (most (...) (24 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  TRU & Cookstown

(...) Of some interest is that most of the older SW sets are discounted. This includes the SW bucket... usually a fairly useless pack but for $14.98Cdn it becomes more attractive. Heck... they sure are good for sorting Lego bricks! I also went to (...) (24 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  ZNAP 40% off @ TRU

FYI, ZNAP is 40% off at TRU this week. They also had an ad for Studios, LOM and the new SW sets but alas, it was for regular prices. :-( Jude (24 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)
