Hello,
I got tired of trying to find Canadian online Lego sellers that were
competitive...I've been purchasing "sale" merchandise from eToys, Walmart,
etc. through a service in Canada called Borderfree (www.borderfree.com).
They act as a broker for you for purchases from companies that do not ship
to Canada (or in some cases where shipping costs are prohibitive). I
managed to purchase the Droid Developer Kit from Walmart during the $24.95
pricing about a month ago and I've managed to purchase Darkside Development
(along with some other sale items) from etoys using the same method.
Although eToys ships to Canada, I find after it is all done, I come out
ahead on the shipping if Borderfree has them ship it to their US "location"
and then Borderfree ships to me. All you do is install the plugin, go to
the page with the"add to cart", and then start the plugin. They usually
have a quote back to you in half an hour in Cdn$ with GST, PST and delivery
included. You then decide whether you like the Cdn$ total price or not...at
which time you accept or decline the quote.
I don't work for borderfree.com, but I have found it very convenient and
moneysaving. I've made three purchase (eToys and Walmart USA sales) through
them already and it worksvery well.

| Hey I haven't actually looked into this as of the time I'm replying but this sounds really cool! I now have another question, however..... What is the deal with paying "duty" on items and how is it determined? I can't seem to find out much info on (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)

| (...) Try... Toad Hall Toys, a toyshop located in Winnipeg. (URL) the East Coast Model Center, on PEI. (URL) the two I know of straightaway. Neither actually deal in Lego, I mostly know of them through my digging for Rokenbok. You did, afterall, ask (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)
