Well im no economist (thanky you oh great one who decides careers),
but I was told that the Sales tax/import tax etc..on lego came to about
22%, but with a flat GST of about 10% then that would be a 12% saving.
But even then its not cheap. I mean you can't really afford to go out
and buy 4 or 5 of one set because it contains a few special pieces. On
that note though, i do remember once speaking to someone at Lego over
there in Frenchs Forest, I was told that if there was a piece i wanted
in large numbers (what large is im not sure yet) they could get them
together as a special package..I used the example of them neat palm tree
thingies..and the Rep. said yeah they could get them if i wanted.
Where incidentally do you get things from Overseas...direct contacts?
Auctions? on-line?
As an offside..isn't it cool to know more about lego/sets/etc..because
of information off the internet, then them so called "REPRESENTATIVES"
Lego gets to hang around in stores.
Anyway happy designing/building/destroying/repeating..
