However, the 1 has an external AC plug. This rocks. 1 is definitely a • better
set to get, just for this factor. You can always pick up the parts (8002
contains all the 'missing' parts many times over), but you can't get an AC
plug.

Now that's a piece of good news. I was wondering if I'd missed out on some
exciting Technics bits by having Mindstorms v1.0. However, I have an 8002
(not yet opened, but probably next in line for opening) so it seems I have
the best of both worlds.

However, I haven't yet to bother to use the AC plug. I'm still on my
original set of batteries so it doesn't seem a priority. I really don't run
my robots for very long, just enough to test them really. I guess I get my
kicks from building rather than playing.
