Oops sorry, maybe it was Kerry, well maybe if we are both lucky we will get
the RIS for xmas, and then we can help each other out :-)
I agree with the Duplo comments, I too think that the tunnel is extremely
ugly, but my son and daughter want one anyway. (at least one - guess we will
see how much they are)
I liked that new Toolo sets (to come), very different from the old, though. I
don't mind that though, as I have quite a few stashed away MIB for my sons 4th
bday or for xmas, so the new ones will round it out quite nicely. I know that
he will really like the new faces on the Toolo guys, he is really
into "baddies" at the moment, (pirates, cowboys, and knights especially, when
are they going to bring out these themes in Duplo, now they would sell!)
I also was very disappointed with the '99 range thought that the quality just
wasn't there, and certainly the variety was missing. This year I was shocked
to discover the older sets that had been discontinued were being rehashed,
though they had only been discontinued for a couple of years. The only
rehashed set that I was pleased to see was the clown train set that is coming
(push a long) I am hoping that they will bring back the other clown sets too.
Other than that, the 2000 sets sported nothing for me to buy at all so far!
My son is also starting to grow out of the Duplo, due to the lack of
implements, I have always disliked the picture blocks, and so does he. SO,
Duplo has kinda fallen by the wayside for playmobil, as this has lots of tiny
pieces, and no blocks. This suits him perfectly. My daughter though, is 11 yrs
and loves Duplo and so do all her friends. They build the most amazing
structures, and they really like the "cute factor" I have a lot of Lego for my
son when he is ready (pirates & western)so I hope he eventually likes
building, if not, I will donate them to a good cause...me! How old are your
children?
Bye for now Deidre
Rachel :-)
