The prices on the site are (depending on which store) quite similar.  But
obviously in many cases to get a better deal you wait and spend up large
with the 20% off deals.  But also, these items are not actually here
physically in Australia so maybe that is why they can make it seem cheaper
in a sense, it will be us the consumer who will pay the shipping and not
Lego Australia.  The product here in Australia is obviously cheaper since it
already includes all the overheads into the price (GST and all).

The prices for Lego on shop at home for Australia are significantly cheaper >than the UK, and the USA, and I was • trying
to understand the reason. (seeing as Lego wont tell me!)

Maybe... maybe not... read above!

If you take out 17.5%VAT out of UK prices, and 10% GST out of Australian prices, then the Australian prices on shop @
home generally work out 20-35% cheaper than UK prices.
Seeing as the vast majority of Lego's overheads are the same in both cases (all incured in Denmark) and shipping is paid
by the customer, it is difficult to understand why they should be so much cheaper.

I guess Lego will say that some of it is down to currency fluctuation. Australia has gone down against the Euro, whilst
the UK has gone up. So we are probably comparing 2 prices at the extreme of currency fluctuation compared to the Euro,
which Danish prices are pegged to.

So not only do you stuff us at Cricket, you get cheaper much Lego too.

regards
Lawrence
