Issac Newtown dabbled in the Black arts, he was at one point just a
glofieied Alchemist trying to make gold. But it was this dabbling that
eventually lead to him coming up with the very *pure* scientific proofs on
gravity and motion.
So it should be perfectly fine to say we're Lego Enthusiasts, and for all
its worth perhaps the dabbling improves the Enthusiasm side towards lego..

This whole naming debate has come around once already, quite a while ago
actually, during the time that Mark H. was sin-binned (NOTE: Rugby League
term) which eventually lead to the formation of lugnet.org.au At that time
there was no formal National organisation (dare I say there isn't now
either), but back then we didn't have near as many particpants.
Perhaps now its time to resolve the issue for good. There were was a list of
all the pro's and cons for different names suggested by Dave L.

And despite the drabness of something Like AusLug (using the lug Acronym),
consider this: whats more common to the lot of us than Lego bricks, Megablok
bricks, Themes, Subthemes, Era's, number of sets, favourite set, or shoe size ??
The Lego Users Group...LUGNET.
Using the LUG in a name indicates the sense of community and allows
invitation to others saying "hey we're all part of Lugnet, you're welcome to
check out Lugnet and then if so desire join our merry band".
Furthermore there are some of us (myself for example) that have totally gone
off Lego lately, but still enjoy being part of Lugnet. Call it a dark age
perhaps, but I still like to know whats going on.
This name issue seems to go around and around itself yet always ends up in a
different spot.

| (...) still (...) age!) It's not age! I'm grandma here (since nobody *admits* to being older) and Oz is fine with me. I use it all the time. It's more fun than Aus. Also, Oz has whimsy/fantasy associations that I find quite appropriate for our (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.loc.au)
