Actually it is interesting to notice the effect that new grey has had upon
me. While I was disappointed like many of us with the change to new grey
given my existing investment in old grey, I didn't exactly start thumping my
fist on the desk and swearing I'd never buy Lego again (as some people did).
I actually figured that I'd be buying sets regardless. I was even thinking
that for medieval stone walls, a bit of variety in the shades of grey would
enhance the effect. So my position at the time of the announcement of the
colour changes was far less radical than that espoused by many LUGnet
members.
However, looking back over the past year, I've bought very little Lego and
felt disappointed with most of it. For example, I bought the new Hogwarts
Castle which has the new grey on the roof, and yeah, I didn't like the look
of the set. Now I don't know if my low levels of purchasing can be entirely
attributed to the new grey, but it's a fact that I bought far far less Lego
this past year than I have in previous years, probably less than 20%
compared with the previous years. Is it a concidence or not?
I am curious how the rest of you have reacted to the colour change. Have
your buying habits changed? Is this what you would have predicted? (But
please don't rehash the arguments about the colour change -- you can read
all the old postings on the LUGnet archives if you feel the need to
maintain your rage).

| (...) I've bought less Lego in the last year, but then that's mainly due to buying a (non-Lego) house. What it comes down to is that I don't yet regard bley parts as an incentive to buy a set, but they're not a disincentive - e.g. I have bought 4508 (...) (20 years ago, 26-Feb-05, to lugnet.loc.au)
