Well, I survived the drive home (more than can be said for a lot of the models, oh well :) ). A big thanks to Richie and James for their organizing skillz.

I’ve uploaded the few low quality pictures of the Sunday I took with my antique digital camera (grumble grumble - a poor workman blames his tools etc). There’s a lot of stuff I missed so I’m hoping to see other people’s piccies up soon!

Some of the highlights of the day for me were:

The Impromptu building competition

This was a lotta fun. Trying to portray such ideas ranging from trucks to communism with a single Designer set was extremely challenging, however some of the results were suprisingly innovative.

‘Partsies’

I wasn’t involved in this, so it’d be better to hear from someone who was, but from what I could gather there was some purhcasing of interesting sets and frantic divvying of pieces.

Brikwars

By the time we had finished aforementioned fun activities, there was unfortunately little time left for Brikwars. What there was was cool as usual, The Queensbrikian Expeditionary force had a glorious victory (well, at least a glorious tactical retreat), capturing some valuable GoldDomium, as well as several cans of coke, without suffering a single casualty:

All in all, a great day was had by all.

That’s all (from me, at least)

I have uploaded all my photos of Bricksmeet 2003 to here: (URL) am awaiting moderation. There are too many to deep-link. Due to the low lighting levels in the room, a lot of photos were blurry and I could not use them. So, my apologies if I don't (...) (21 years ago, 13-Jun-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

DAY ONE The gathering began noonish on Saturday, where we (Michael, Kerry, Paul, Ross, Teunis, James & I) met at Toys-R-Us in Parramatta. We managed to spend about an hour in (...)
