  Re: Battle of Tank Stream

In lugnet.loc.au.nsw.syd, David Low writes worthy stuff in contribution to the developing tale of the Battle of Tank Stream. Cool. Thanks Dave, will add. I'll have the draft page up by the end of the weekend. Regards Richard Still baldly going.... (25 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au.nsw.syd)

A happy dealing with Lego Australia

Hi, we seem to spend a lot of time hammer Lego Australia for their good work *cough*, so I thought that I'd write and state a _good_ experience with LA. As most of you who attended 2000.3 saw, one of the pneumatic cylinders that pops open the doors (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Battle of Tank Stream

(...) <snippage of the mighty battle> Excellent work Richard -- perhaps contributions to the text would be inspired by a draft page on the Studs site that has some of PeteC's pics as they come to hand. In the meantime, something to add near the (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au.nsw.syd)

Re: Any idea when next catalog supposed to be out?

(...) At least one or two of these are in Hobart's Toyworld, can't remember set number(s) off hand and didn't look that closely. As for the Catalog part II, I'd hazard a guess at September - but this is just a guess based on timing of (bulk) new (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

RE: Australian Millenium Falcon Release Date and $$$ = IMPORTING necessity

Well, I still reckon that it wouldn't hurt to mention that: 'Wherever practical we try to purchase our lego in Australia. However, occasionally we branch out to get sets from overseas, generally for sets that are either produced in the US or (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Australian Millenium Falcon Release Date and $$$ = IMPORTING necessity

Definitely the second letter, the first is just a "hey look at us , we're Lego fans, would you like to play with us?" type of letter. If they give good feedback then we can start giving them the juicy stuff. If they give us bad feedback, we give (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

RE: Australian Millenium Falcon Release Date and $$$ = IMPORTING necessity

Thanks for backing up my memory there, Peter. I think what you got was the price for the X-WING [collectors edition] From memory, that was the only set THIS YEAR [PRE GST] to be over the $300 RRP [other than the train, possibly]. $359 sounds like (...)   Re: Australian Millenium Falcon Release Date and $$$ = IMPORTING necessity

(...) This can't be right. I think the person at LA must have swapped a two with a three somewhere along the line. When I range LA back in February I got a price list for all of the 2000 Star Wars range. The exchange rate has got worse, but see (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.starwars)

RE: Australian Millenium Falcon Release Date and $$$ = IMPORTING necessity

Not wishing to seem like I appreciate the high costs...I think the reason that lego is much cheaper in the US than any othey country is...wait for it...They produce it there. This means no import duties, low transport costs, etc. Unfortunately, (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au)
