Hello, I'm new here.  I work at Legoland, in the Attractions Department.

The grand opening of the Sports Center was just a couplea weeks ago on the 15th.
I worked the special event that day.  We had kids come in from the "San Diego
Inner City Games" (or something to that effect) along with "sport celebrities"
(and I use that term lightly).  The biggest name there was the QB for the SD
Chargers... and I dont even actually know his name.

Anywho, the Sports Center is a pretty big hit with the kids.  Not so much to the
employees.  Heh.

There are currently 5 activities: Football (score points by throwing balls
through moving football dummies), Soccor (kick the balls at targets), Slam Dunk
(basically, just make free throws for two minutes) and Spin N' Shoot, which
seems to be the most popular.  Four players are in a cage-like thing and you try
to score baskets on rotating backboards.  The 5th is a rock climbing wall.  The
only thing in the area that is pay-to-use.

This summer we have a Sports Jam coming.  It'll be a "high-energy" dance/stunt
show, with BMX bikers, skateboarders, and in-line skaters.  Starting very soon,
we will be removing the Slam Dunk area of the Sports Center to make room for
bleachers for the show.  It will re-open after summer, and the stage area is
taken down.

After the summer, we've heard word that they plan on building two more
activities.  Something baseball and something hockey.

Anywho, like I said.  I'm new here... I've got my nose pressed to all the
gossip, and I'll try my best to answer any and all questions.

Looks like April 12th is going to be a busy day at LLCA. In addition to the opening of the Bionicle Blaster ride they will be opening a new 'Sports Center'. Here is the blurb about it: "In addition to featuring the newest NBA and NHL-themed LEGO (...) (21 years ago, 13-Mar-03, to lugnet.legoland.california)
