  Re: Another Legend dies....

(...) Wow, that strikes me as as a little strange. Seeing the set re-released shouldn't damage your nostalgia for the set. All those happy memories are still there! I bought a metroliner off the shelf in 1995. It was getting rare at the time - it (...) (23 years ago, 18-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) As I am an assistant Manager at a KB toys I can confirm that this happens alot. Most (roughly 75%) of the people that come into the store do not realize that the Mega Blocks sets are not Lego brand. One woman today actually asked me if the (...)   Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!?

(...) Those who paid $800 for a single set (I have) will still have their Lego... so what's the worry? I think in the long run it will be good. We may see the return of parts which we never thought we'd see again... and some we do not want to see (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.castle, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Guess who paid for those eToy Lego bargains?

(...) Exactly. *Somebody* has to do it. (...) But remember, for most parts suppliers to make it worth their while, they are buying sets in bulk at deep discounts-- 50%-70% off, which has got to be approaching TLC's profit margin. Think of what (...) (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: the whole truth and nothing but the truth

I live in Australia where Shop at Home does not exist. Whats the best way of getting some of these sets? I don't want to trouble other people overseas to buy/package etc.. Finally in the last few years there's something I actually *WANT* to buy from (...) (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

S@H delivery -- only 1 charge for many parcels?

If I order several items through S@H and they are not all available for immediate dispatch, how many sets of shipping charges do I have to pay?   Re: Different mold on 1x6, 1x8

(...) Snip I believe that the one on the left is a newer mold (entailing a slight saving in material used) and the one on the right matches my bricks dating back to the mid '70s, so it's at least that old. I don't know when they introduced the new (...) (20 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

Re: So where is Brad's answer to the 2001 info?

(...) Well, I'm fairly certain that it doesn't matter much to Lego (in the short term anyway) if you pay full retail price at Wal-Mart or wait for WM to drop them to 50% off to clear them off the shelf. Wal-Mart paid for the sets up front, so the (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  S@H shop site and 8479 :-(

My paper catalog indicates that I can order the 8479 barcode multi-set, but when I try to do so by entering 8479 in the item number search, I'm told this set is not available in this country (United States). (...) O.K. I think we agree here. You're saying the kids are going elsewhere in droves. You're saying Bionicle doesn't interest you. Is there a chance then that it doesn't interest the kids as well?
