Go to http://www.lego.com/silverchampion/

Choose Web Extra
Choose "Build the Street Sensation"
Choose "Download building instructions tool to your computer"
Download the offline building tool (takes forever even on a T1).
Install it.
Run it.

Problem 1 - it requires Shockwave 7.03r1 - if you have the Shockwave 8
installer, TOUGH it won't work with it, it says Shockwave is not on your
system.  You MUST use the shockwaveinstaller703r1.exe install file (for
PCs).

Problem 2 - once you have used the 703r1 install file, run the building
tool.  It pops up a little BIT window, asking for a username and password.
Why in the HECK do they need my username/password for an OFFLINE building
tool???

Problem 3 - if you are actually ONLINE (again, WHY for an OFFLINE building
tool), enter your Lego Club username/password.  It pops up a window:
"That is a new username.  Would you like to connect to the server to confirm
loging?"
It tries to contact somewhere at lego.com.
Result:
"Could not connect to Server.  Error: 4165"
Result:
The tool WON'T RUN.
Looking in various files in the BIT install directory, I see srv.txt
contains only the URL http://www.lego.com/techfiles/projector/
Try that URL - Lego's standard Page Not Found error.

LEGO - GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!!!!!!

So I go to view the instructions online.  Surprise, surprise, they are in
Shockwave format.  They load.  They are so zoomed out that you can't see the
pieces worth a crap.  There is no way to zoom in enough to see the detail
and no way to save the pics.

MAKE THE INSTRUCTIONS HTML AND JPGS WITH ENOUGH DETAIL TO *SEE* what is
trying to be done!
http://www.lego.com/advanced/m2p0.asp had it right, don't fix what isn't
broken!

I got the 8458 Silver Champion a couple of days ago. In the instruction booklet, it shows a web browser (looks like Netscape on a Mac) open to www.legotechnic.com. OK, fine, go to (URL) .... Unable to locate server. <sigh> Here's a penny, buy a (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)
