Re: Old Parts in Legend Sets?

(...) No, it's not--but I can't recall any case of either piece appearing in Wild West. Dark Forest, maybe, now that I think about it--did the DFF have either of those pieces? best LFB (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

Re: And the July Surprise is...

(...) So there is a God...and He is pleased with us. How about that... (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: And the July Surprise is...

(...) <snip> Thanks again, Brad. Now that the foofuraw has died down a bit, I just have 1 question I was hoping you could answer: How many were ordered in the first 24 hours? <grin> James (mostly serious, but aware that you probably can't answer (...)   Re: And the July Surprise is...

(...) Thank you for responding to my last question with a letter, Brad Justus and Susan Williams. There was a typographical mistake in the letter when you said "Afterall" in my letter just to keep you informed of a mistake in the letter. I should (...)   Re: And the July Surprise is...

Three things have struck me reading all the replies to this posting. While I thought that this set was good i didn't realise that it was quite so popular! i'll have to buy another one just to get the inn sign, the most unique part in the set and (...)   Re: And the July Surprise is...

Richard, I couldn't agree with you more. I bought 12 of those Blacksmith Shop sets back when they first came out (and I am not even into the castle theme) just for those two glorious red steep sloped corners (and the 1x4 red arches). We do need more (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  New stuff on LEGO.com

I wanted to mention if it hasn't already been noted that Dinosaurs and Jack Stone are now available on the web site. The photos have all been seen before back when Christian Gemuenden grabbed them. Also the web site has reintroduced mouse over, (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

Re: Did I just get bad news on the Legend?

(...) I wouldn't worry, I was the first to place an order for the Sopwith camel and yet still got that letter in the mail. S@H's system seems to be setup so that all pre-orders are actually considered backorders. Jonathan (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Did I just get bad news on the Legend?

(...) I'm on the phone with an operator now (on hold). They're apparently out of backorder stock! Amazing! How many of you guys ordered 50+ of these babies, anyway? ;-) Wait...wait...no biggie after all, I was still able to order some, and they're (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: And the July Surprise is...

(...) Whatever premium you paid for your first (at least current first) #497 will be completely worth the joy of building something that you found to be so valuable. The #497 was obviously worth (to you) the price you paid for it. If you can get (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Did I just get bad news on the Legend?

I just received an e-mail from S@H that my Guarded Inns are backordered due to unforseen demand. Is this just because they aren't scheduled to ship until July 8, or is it because ordering within the first hour or so of availability wasn't soon (...)   Re: And the July Surprise is...

(...) I suspect that the number of builders who would have serious problems would be relatively small. One way you can get a higher ratio of corners would be to buy more Guarded Inn sets (may not be terribly practical depending on your ability to (...)   Re: And the July Surprise is...

(...) IMHO.. Any time you put more than one kind of part into a pack, you run into the problem of how many of each to put in. This is true EVEN when the parts are "paired" like hinge tops and bottoms. So this is a real challenge. No possible (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Old Parts in Legend Sets?

(...) Maybe its just me, but Dark Forest/Western isn't exactly what I'd consider "some time now." :) Jeff (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

Re: And the July Surprise is...

(...) My bad. Just walls, or bricks too? Maybe something like <set:3732> in red and black? Or a whole new set, a medieval townhouse maybe... --DaveL (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.theory)

Re: And the July Surprise is...

I'm very excited about the Legends perspective as well. But to me personally, there's one option that would really make this even greater: *Reruns in a different color from the original.* Why? Consider: - Variety. It would be more interesting to (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

does anyone else notice that they started losing money when the last gerneration of themes left?. the space colection, castle, town (not Jr), big and nifty technic sets.   Re: Very loose tolerances in the manufacture of LEGO bricks?

(...) I remember reading that same article and I sure came away with the impression that the molds were being referred to. Could be misinterpretation on my part, though. (...) Agreed. ++Lar (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: And the July Surprise is...

I didn't gasp or fall out of my chair. I did run around in circles a few times while visions of all this means danced in my head. Giddy is the only word I can use to describe myself. Woo-Hoo! -Mike Petrucelli (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Very loose tolerances in the manufacture of LEGO bricks?

(...) I agree that the mould tolerances would be higher than the part. I was assuming the referenced article was referring to the parts, though. (I don't want to sign up for a new Web Account to read it, until I've heard back from their site admin). (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)
