Re: And the July Surprise is...

I'm very excited about the Legends perspective as well. But to me personally, there's one option that would really make this even greater: *Reruns in a different color from the original.* Why? Consider: - Variety. It would be more interesting to (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: TLC becomes successful overnight?!

does anyone else notice that they started losing money when the last gerneration of themes left?. the space colection, castle, town (not Jr), big and nifty technic sets.   Re: Very loose tolerances in the manufacture of LEGO bricks?

(...) I remember reading that same article and I sure came away with the impression that the molds were being referred to. Could be misinterpretation on my part, though. (...) Agreed. ++Lar (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: And the July Surprise is...

I didn't gasp or fall out of my chair. I did run around in circles a few times while visions of all this means danced in my head. Giddy is the only word I can use to describe myself. Woo-Hoo! -Mike Petrucelli (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Very loose tolerances in the manufacture of LEGO bricks?

(...) I agree that the mould tolerances would be higher than the part. I was assuming the referenced article was referring to the parts, though.   Re: And the July Surprise is...

Nah, that doesn't make sense. What WOULD make sense is ONE corner wall and 2-4 straight walls. Otherwise, you'd only be building skinny towers over time, to use up all the excess corners.   Re: Very loose tolerances in the manufacture of LEGO bricks?

(...) Except in rare cases, the tool has to be a tighter tolerance than the product. I have no trouble whatsoever imagining (read that as speculating please!) that the tolerances on the molds are at .001 mm and that due to non uniform cooling, (...)   Re: Very loose tolerances in the manufacture of LEGO bricks?

(...) I can't get into the Web Club to read this (because my userid has been nuked for some reason) so I don't know the context. But as Jake McKee has already posted, this would be thousandths of a millimetre (1/1000 or 0.001 mm). For you non-metric (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Very loose tolerances in the manufacture of LEGO bricks?

When I went to (URL) noticed this statement Thousands of a mm - that's the tolerance of accuracy at the LEGO mould factories. I don't think that you mean that the tolerances are on the order of meters (a thousand mm is a m), do you? Chris (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Dan's Carrier LEGO Builder's Gallery

Right now it's geared for whoever wants to send in a picture. At some unspecified future date, we may try and do age-range categories. Tomas Clark Producer, LEGO Direct P.S.   Re: And the July Surprise is...

After a nine month drought of not buying new LEGO, sans a LEGO Racer and the Droid Escape set, I have pre-ordered my Guarded Inn, and this is from someone who was never once intrestead in Castle sets. I am so excited! This is a great idea for LEGO! (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: And the July Surprise is...

Excellent, a very nice surprise, but when would it be possible to use lego direct from the rest of Europe (Spain, for example). It is really disappointing to know that the Guarded inn is available again, but not in your country. Anyway, I am just (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: And the July Surprise is...

(...) I think for a more diverse mini-figure set it would be better to re-issue Castle-Mini Figures. It has 2 forestmen, 1 lion-sheild, 2 black falcon sheild, and a Peasant. You could build up and army of each group by buying several copies of this (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) This is wonderful news! Let me be the 111th to thank you!
