Someone at Shop@Home mis-priced them. They cost more than 5.99 for dealers, WHOLESALE so I knew something was up, but it took them along time to figure it out it seems. I bought a pack of the new road plates a month or so ago: (URL) costing CN$5.99 for the pair. Now I see the price is CN$11.99 for the pair. Yikes! That's quite the price increase. What gives? Totaly agree.. In the netherlands it's 299 euro. 1 euro = 1.219870 usd and 1 usd = 0.819875 euro When i calculate 299 euro to dollar, the box cost 364 dollar. and otherwise 249 dollar = 204.15 euro......... that's a different of almost 95 dollar :-( (...) (20 years ago, 19-Mar-06, to lugnet.lego)

A slightly better solution may be to find similar stock in the pre-lubricated bronze used for bushings. I don't know the true name of the stuff, but if tubing of the right size could be found, you wouldn't need to worry about grease or oil. (...)
