(...) I'm really looking forward to this :-) I regret that I haven't had the time recently to play with the new LPub. I should download it on my spare machine and play there. In the previous version of LPub I released some prototype new features for creating "callout" images, which are images of small assembly contruction, all tiled together into a single image, like this: (URL) this (URL) above callout image generation (...) Just a quick heads up that the B.I. Portal ((URL) will be down for some much needed maintenance. We should be back up and running late tomorrow night. I've decided to keep the original two formats and add a third. Processing of the new layout layer of LPub must be done in either bitmap or PNG, because composite images made of JPEGs end up having the barground color change all over the place. I can (...) (...) That's because your machine needed to uncompress the PNG (unlike BMPs), and it had more information in it than a JPG, I believe. (...) BMPs are not compressed on disk - which is why they are huge to begin with, and compress to very very small. (...) (22 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst)
