======Warning possible book spoilers======

We see as the books progress that Harry has an increasing interest in girls...
I would like to discuss who do you think will be number 1 on Harry's love
list? (either in book V or even beyond)

1. Cho Chang

For: Already shown interest, fellow quidditch player
Against: short relationship with Diggory, year older (hence not likely to be
in final book)
Rank: A strong starter she may have piqued early, look for a disinterested
finish, 3

2. Fleur Delacour

For: She's (part?) Veela!
Against: now home in France? Outside chance
Rank: Flash in the pan, this girl hasn't got what it takes to catch Potter, 5

3. Hermione Granger

For: adventures together, classmate same age, clever and beautiful (when
dressed up)
Against: Could Harry see what's under his nose? Competition with Ron (see
Ginny comments)
Rank: A good round of pluses but beaten by a better combination, 2

4. Ginny Weasley

For: Relative of best friend, also clever, If Harry goes with G, leaves H
free for Ron - doesn't work other way around.
Against: relative of best friend, possible hero-worship, younger woman (but
only by a year)
Rank: This girl has it all, family, damesel in distress, strong interest in
Potter and finally better plot connections, 1

5. Parvati Patil

For: date to the Yule? ball, classmate,
Against: she enjoys divination?
Rank: dispite having no obvious drawbacks equally no outstanding pluses, 4

if you would prefer, you can always e-mail me and we could have a less
"revealing" discussion....
what I mean by this is that you feel you don't want to ruin the surprise
for others who haven't gotten up to book 4....

See spoiler warning at top

In order to keep this from being relegated to .off-topic I'll post a Lego
question, How many Hogwarts students do you think we'll see in Lego. Harry,
Ron and Hermione obviously. Malfoy too probably. Any of the others likely?

James (who hopes the Quirrel fig has a new turban peice...)

Discussions about Harry Potter will never be "relagated to off-topic"
just because its non lego related....
anyways....you answered my question very well....so I'll try my best with
yours...

Besides Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco, I expect to see Neville Longbottom,
possibly Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan, Crabbe, and Goyle.....
and if they come out with a Quidditch set....Oliver Wood, and the Weasley
Twins...

1. ....as for your initial assesment of the romantics in Harry's life...
I too would rank Ginny #1 .... she has a deep crush on him .... if only
he would take more notice of it....

2. I thought the kiss by Hermione interested me at the end of book 4.  Not
like Hermione....shows she's becoming less uptight about things

3. I think Fleur is very interested in Harry because of his rescue of her
younger sister....and her possible return to teach at Hogwarts

4. Cho....Harry's obviously interested in her because they share the same
interest in Quidditch (and both are seekers)....Cho is also very, very
pretty as it says in the book....Unfortunately for Harry, Cho might have
a hard time getting over her latest (err late boyfriend) Cedric....

5. Patil....danced together at the Yuletide Ball....sparks didn't exactly
fly as Harry only took one dance with her and spent the rest of the time
spying on Hermione with Ron....my guess with this is Patil was a definite
last-ditch effort by Harry for a partner (he needed one.....as a Hogwart
Champion)

So I am kind of agreement with your 1 and 2 choices .... Choice one would
allow more than 7 books.....
I've been reading rumours that Rowling will write more than 7 books anyways...
books 1-7 will only touch on Harry's childhood.....more books are to follow.
I wonder if they will be written solely by Rowlings or will she do what
Lucas has done and allowed other writers to write in the series (with final
approval of the story line going to him)????
.....just another point to ponder!!!!!
