Re: Top Ten Toys on A&E —Ian Sinclair
<stuff deleted> (...) I'm glad you mentioned this Alan. I missed the program, but will catch a rerun. A&E has taken both barrels from dozens of LEGO fans posting their disbelief that LEGO was not in the Top Ten; even #1 in many people's opinion. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Top Ten Toys on A&E —Gary R. Istok
(...) I agree, how Ameri-centric of them. I saw the show, and thought for sure that LEGO would be #1. Play-doo beat out LEGO, get real. Lincoln Logs beat out LEGO?     (...) Tim, I agree. Erector set, is definitely worth the top 10 list. It could be what inspired the LEGO Technic System. Gary Istok (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

There are a bunch of Meccano sets (as well as Lego) on DYA's sale page if your interested in seeing pics of current kits. As with Lego (and Erector, Airfix, etc), the older Meccano sets are a little better. (URL) Have fun! John My Trade/Sale (and (...)         Re: Top Ten Toys on A&E —Steve Bliss
(...) Allan, Care to make any comments on the current offerings of Meccano? I was in TRU the other day, looking at the Meccano area.      Allan, a very nice summary or overview of Meccano & Erector. I enjoyed both the article and the images. Your father did a very nice job.
