New LEGO Corp Websites? —David K. Z. Harris
So, a few weeks ago, there was a rumor that Shop @ Home might discontinue the Service Packs at the end of the year. Then there was a hint that they may be opening a bulk-brick buying service in the beginning of the new year. I admit I've been too (...)          Re: New LEGO Corp Websites? —Matthew Miller
(...) [snip] (...) Unless of course it is registered through one of the other registeries (register.com, for example), in which case it wouldn't be in NSI's database. (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: New LEGO Corp Websites? —Naji Norder
(...) Sites like register.com still have to give the dns info to Network Solutions, since they (NS) still run the .com. DNS servers. (If you do an nslookup from the register.com website, the information returned is from Network Solutions' whois (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: New LEGO Corp Websites? —Matthew Miller
(...) Actually, that's not true. (And, the whois database is seperate from the dns database, anyway.) Try whois mkmiller.org and whois -h whois.register.com mkmiller.org (or "whois mkmiller.org@whois.r...ster.com", depending on your implementation (...)          Re: New LEGO Corp Websites? —Naji Norder
(...) Hmm. That's actually disheartening. Since NS is primary name service for .org, I had -hoped- that they kept their whois service up with their dns service. Large, global databases make searching easier. :-) (...) Yes, I see. I have used (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) Yeah, it's very messy. And until we see more tlds (I'm actually a proponent of allowing _any_ tld, with maybe a five-character limit), it's not like there's very much benefit for us involved. Ah well. Anyway, there does seem to be a (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) I hope that's not colonic irrigation with Lego. Ouch! All the others looked plausable, but I seriously suspect that this one is a 3rd-party domain name. I wonder how long it'll be around before TLG's legal sharks sink their teeth in... Cheers, (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sd)

Re: New LEGO Corp Websites? —Todd Lehman
(...) I think there is an Israel-based company named LEGO which makes products for water irrigation and hoses and things. IANAL, but I don't think TLG has (or can have) a problem with it because it's in a completely separate industry and hence not (...)       (...) There is also a Japanese Lego company - they make ceramic figurines. (I used to see these a lot on eBay before Lego got its own group.)
