  Re: Thoughts on 1999 sets

(...) Maybe my hopes were too high. Compare to (URL) for example -- the Lego design is way too stubby and lumpy compared to the long, sleek "real" X-wing. (26 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Thoughts on 1999 sets

(...) It's LEGO. There's only so much that can be done in the way of scale-modeling realism. If they wanted to make an accurate scale model, they'd have to make a bunch of specialized new structural pieces. Which is what most of us were afraid would (...) I'll second the stubby look. The fuselage looks a little short. As for lumpy, what do you expect? LEGOs traditionally have lumpy studs on top. :-) Duane (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.general)

(...) It was the best one I could find in 10 seconds. :) (...) True. Like I said, I suppose I was expecting too much. I'll probably appreciate them more when I see them in person. (26 years ago, 4-Nov-98, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Thoughts on 1999 sets

(...) Oh, sorry, when I said "it's funny that they" I meant the people at Lucas... I assumed the URL above was some sort of glossary definition at the official SW site. So there are other X-Wing photos up there I suppose, huh? :) I'll go have a (...) (26 years ago, 4-Nov-98, to lugnet.starwars)
