Re: Selling someone else's work on Ebay

(...) Ahh, I was wondering that myself (I actually did ask a question regarding the origin of the design to the seller and it didn't appear public, so I assumed that the seller had the control to suppress it. JOHN (20 years ago, 22-Mar-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Selling someone else's work on Ebay

(...) Well, even if they copied your instructions verbatim it doesn't seem they've done anything illegal, since there was no restriction on use of your instructions. If they did indeed copy it and are using your work to profit (with their own (...) (20 years ago, 22-Mar-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Selling someone else's work on Ebay

(...) No. Displaying the question publically is an option for the seller. And can't happen at all during the last 12 hours of an auction. Clark (20 years ago, 22-Mar-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Selling someone else's work on Ebay

If you ask a seller a question, are they required to post it (in the "questions" area at the bottom)? If so, we could bombard the auction with, "Can't you just go to brickshelf and download the instructions?" -type questions. Of course that won't (...) (...) In the specific case of eBay, you can report the violation to them and, if you provide sufficient evidence, they'll yank the listing. -Orion (20 years ago, 22-Mar-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Selling someone else's work on Ebay

Well, IANAL, but I would think that by putting the step-by-step directions on a public website you're encouraging people to build a globe of their own. (Great model, btw - I might have to build one!) But, I also think that the seller should give you (...) (20 years ago, 22-Mar-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Selling someone else's work on Ebay

Out of curiousity, a couple times a month I search Ebay, looking for people selling LEGO creations of mine. Sadly, I often come across one or two a month. These people either claim it as their own, or make no mention that they copied the (...) (20 years ago, 22-Mar-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Friendly reminder about use of .general

Just a friendly reminder to all of you loyal users of Lugnet. While .general is sometimes seen as the main newsgroup of Lugnet, it should be noted that posts are on topic for .general only if there is not a better newsgroup for them to go in. Of (...) (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Curious old baseplate

(...) These are relatively unknown to European collectors. They were only ever produced in USA/Canda in 1970-71. I have a pair of these. I use one as a castle courtyard plate (there are no lane markings). This was the first ever plastic roadplate, (...) (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: AoJT3: Johnny Thunder and the King of the Gypsies (Update March 16)

Well since this week is spring break, and since I am not going anywhere for it, I figure I can finish, or at least get very close to finishing, this latest adventure. So here are the next four scenes: (URL) whole gallery: (URL) Steve (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.general)

  Star Wars Vignette

I don't recall having seen any Star Wars vignettes (well other than the storyteller sets), so I thought I'd try doing some of my own. Maybe I'm the first, I'm pretty sure I'm the first StarWars Vignette at lugnet.build.vignette. So anyhow, here's (...) (...) Cool ASCII art there. The roadplate is a Samsonite plate from the 1970's. Fairly rare to find today. It's listed as set 078 on Lugnet: (URL) a few pictures on Brickshelf: (URL) one I've seen had very unusual rounded top studs, instead of the (...) (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.general)

  Curious old baseplate

Hi, I have a baseplate that I can't find on Lugnet or Peeron. It's 50x50, less than plate thickness (whatever the term for that is), green, and has smooth grey roads 14 studs wide. The roads enter on three of the sides, curve a bit, and meet close (...) (20 years ago, 21-Mar-05, to lugnet.general)

  New Duplo© Sets

When I was in Europe lately I had a chance to look at the new Duplo© sets. They are nice sets for town, farm and train. Since my baggage capacity was limited I did not buy any. I wanted to buy them being back in the states. In the local TrU no luck (...) (20 years ago, 20-Mar-05, to lugnet.duplo, lugnet.general) !
