Out of curiosity I looked at Amazon/TRU for this set. I found something
titled:
Lego Radio Control Ferrari Enzo (8652)
(just go to http://www.toysrus.com and search for Lego Ferrari)
Is 8652 radio controlled?!?!?
|
No I dont think so. Heres a picture of the box:

Thanks for the pic Bryan.
Earlier today I went to a TRU and purchased one so I had already seen the
box in person. I almost didnt buy it because I think the stickers used for
the headlights are very unappealing. I think they make it look like a cheap
toy at first glance and distract from the rest of the interesting details in
the design.
I plan to leave those stickers off and Im expecting Ill like the look of
the car much better without them. At least thats the impression I get when
I hold my fingers over the head-lights while I look at the picture on the
box (go ahead, try it, youll see what I mean :-). I wish there was a way
they could have used smoke-colored slope bricks to represent the headlights
instead of the stickers.
Interestingly, in regard to my original post, I noticed that when the TRU
cashier scanned the box the name that appeared was something along the lines
of LEGO RC Ferrari - Promo. Somehow TRU got confused into thinking this
would be an RC set while of course we know it isnt. Not sure if we should
read into that about the possibility of a real RC Ferrari set in the
future...
Regards,
Paul

The headllights arent stickers. The headlights are printed slopes, and
everything else is stickers.

Doh!

Its very weird. Youve probably opened yours by
now, but thought Id put it out there.

Thanks for the info Dan. I havent opened mine yet (wont until X-mas). It
looks like those are Slope Brick 18 4 x 2. I have a couple plain red ones in
my collection so I guess I can still work around the ugly headlights. Do they
look any better in person than in the picture? (e.g. less distracting and
cheezy?)
Thanks,
Paul

| snip (...) In person, they look OK, less cartoony anyways. It's a pretty decent model of a kinda ugly car. What it's really lacking are steering, suspension, doors, and for some reason, the window to the engine is build on an opaque plate, I will be (...)
