Richard Dee wrote <lots of useful stufff about buying Lego in the UK
snipped>...
Thanks Richard! I'll be checking Beatties wherever I go (used to buy my
model RR stuff there when I lived in the UK). I may not be able to take
advantage of the VAT refund as you actually have to take the stuff
through Customs with you and I hope to ship it home instead (so I don't
have to carry it around Italy in my backpack... I don't think the
Exploriens Starship would fit!). Maybe I could just take it to Italy
with me and then ship it home from there. Hmmm. Every country has
different rules about tax refunds, too.
I will be going to Legoland Windsor (bribing my daughter with the offer
of looking at the Castle too... she's not _that_ much of a Lego fan and
at 15 is sliding into her dark ages as I watch :( ).bIt'll be
interesting to see what they have there.
