Wow.
The ruckus in here is so loud it got even *my* attention---I haven’t
posted on LUGNET in over 2 years! :)
The more things change the more they stay the same...
I always found there were a few personalities on LUGNET who were a little
too high-strung about things TLC does. Ironically enough, Tim here and I
had gotten into it years ago over just such an issue (“juniorization” I
think). But now I find his views to be among the most reasonable on this
topic, so I thought it fitting to re-appear below his name. G’day Tim. ;)
As a relative “outsider”, yet one who can probably still claim to have one
of Canada’s largest LEGO collections, I found the outbursts here over the
colour changes rather extreme and silly, but yet completely unsurprising.
There are always going to be fanatics here with a looser grip on reality.
Or people who simply want to argue regardless of topic. In many ways
that’s probably what’s kept LUGNET running..., would be pretty boring here
if everyone agreed all the time I suppose. Heck, I found even Marchetti’s
colourful post (boy, things *have* changed a lot here!) to be one of the
most to-the-point posts here---there’s no doubt where he stands on this!
Even though I completely disagree with him... ;)
So there’re new colours, so what? A few years ago everyone was screaming
for new colours and now there are 2 new greys. Okay, so the old ones are
leaving. Some parts leave at times too. It doesn’t mean you dump the
hobby. This just means that all the old greys you have now are perhaps
more valuable. If you want more, well, you’ll have to buy them from
someone else. But you’ll find lots of use for the new colours as well.
My opinion is too bad, so sad, just get on with life. I echo TC’s comments
above, some people need to chill.
I remember when Jake got hired by TLC, and now he’s getting lynched by
half of LUGNET. “The circle is complete...”, heheh! :) I confess I
haven’t read all the posts on this, just skimmed the sub-threads with names
I recognized from previous years, so maybe not everyone here has gone as
crazy as it appears at first glance... ;)
Anyhow, I suppose this post had no point other than to toss in my
2 cents, and remark at how insane everyone sounds. Oh well, I guess it
wouldn’t be the first time I did that. :)

I have a small collection of the gray's, like them a lot, and have a low LEGO budget in comparision to many of you (...) (21 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)
