Re: New colors and other info

I'm not convinced of the need to make all the grays incompatible simply because they are "warm" ("muddy", or more precisely, yellow-shifted and not strictly neutral). However, thanks for the update so that we can be on the look out and plan (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: New colors and other info

(...) Thank you for the quick and informative post. (...) I just don't understand the issue. At all. Why change colors now after 20 years? It couldn't have been that big of an issue if you are only noticing it now. And no, I can't tell that the old (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Jake, I just want to speak up and tell you that I'm not among all the hysterical folks that seem to think the sky is falling in because a few of the colors have changed (I'm not pointing fingers, that's just a general statement based on the 40 (...) TLC was so open to our concerns that they didn't bother to give us a warning before they discontinued 4 colors - even though such a warning would have helped TLC sell more product in what (...) (...) Every kid I have ever seen in the Lego aisle has behaved in a more mature manner than the author of this post. And that includes the ones that were bawling their brains out. What a shameful display of bad manners and ill temper. In my (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX) !

Re: New colors and other info

My concern is more with brown going away. Brown was a neglected color. For years, Lego did not make a 1x4 brick in this color, and hasn't made a full set of brown bricks available in a bucket or bulk pack. It was impossible to get the right slopes (...)   About the colors....

Has anyone thought that this might be an entirely new color of grey? Blue-grey or metal-grey? Also that "new light grey" seems like the mosiac color of very-light-grey. (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New colors and other info

Hi Jake, I'm not trying to shoot the messanger, but I want to make sure the LEGO company hears what I have to say. This is an expansion on what I sent you earlier. (...) How exactly does it destroy backwards compatibility? I can't imagine that a new 2x4 grey and an old 2x4 grey will go together any differently than a 2x4 white and a 2x4 red - or any other two colors. James (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)
