Hello all,

Well I was just doing a quick read of online news.  I had not been to
www.allspark.com, a Transformers fan site, recently so I brought up the
page.  After scrolling down I stumbled across this header: Wave 5 Product
Catalog Scans - May 22 2003, 10:48 AM containing the text:
"In it, you'll find pictures of the Built To Rule Lego Transformers,"

Okay...Wait a sec...WHAT?!?
Well, it seems these are official:
http://www.tformers.com/article.php?sid=1346
PAGES 2, 3, and 4 of that article.

Did you even LOOK at tformers.com before posting this?
Geezz!!  I think people believe whatever they want to:
Once again, please read and pay attention before going of the Deep End.
Nowhere in Hasbro's product line do they say that these are LEGO products.
The web site refered to here is NOT anything more than a fan created site
and CLEARLY states that these toys are "like Legos".  NOWHERE does it say
"Lego Transformers" as you have quoted.  Anybody who follows Transformers
toys and the recent New York ToyFare (February, I think) knows that Hasbro
has been working on a construction toy line and they linked it to their very
popular Transformers line.  This line is already in the Toys R Us main
computers starting at very competitive prices.
They are NOT LEGO.

Aaron,
Yes, I did LOOK at tformers.com before posting this.  No where in my post
did I say that these were official LEGO Transformers.  I quoted a line from
an article headline that I read that led me to the catalogue scans.  I did
not quote "Lego Transformers" by itself--it was within the context of the
"Built to Rule" title; sorry for any confusion.  My thread title uses the
phrase "LEGO brickish" as a compound adjective (I'm not sure of the
technical grammatical name) and within my post I explicitly said that these
toys are
"joined in the manner of the system originated by the LEGO Company".
While I could have said MEGA Bloks or other imitators, I went with TLC
because they started this remarkable system.
Again, I did not say that these were Transformers made by the LEGO Group.
Furthermore, the questions I posed within the intial thread lead to
discussion of excellent My Own Creation models fans have made and, with
their existence, why a joint venture of such wonderful ideas--Transformers
and LEGO bricks--did not come to fruition.

Sincerely,
Andrew P. Saada

(...) Hi Andrew: I've been casually following the BTR product line for GI Joe, but I've found annoyingly little information online except for a few pictures, and none of my local retailers seem to know anything about them. I suppose this is a Hasbro (...) (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)
