Like Larry, I will debate that the questions on this poll don't quite allow
for all possible answers. I almost checked off the last answer, as I
believe that the group should be left as is. However, I disagree with the
accompanying phrases about how the group is "depressing" or "contributes
nothing". As such, I cannot complete this poll without a bitter taste in my
mouth.
ot.d satisfies what it aims to, being off-topic and having debates. The
majority of people who read the group have common respect for each other as
fellow Lego enthusiasts (many of whom seem to have a good grasp for mature
discussion, even with heated topics). Discussion boards like Lugnet will
invariably have debatable and off-topic issues from time to time. If we do
not provide an off-topic sub-group to follow-up to, then the same debates
(as well as the odd flamewars, puns, and jokes) will eventually find their
way into the on-topic groups. It is better to be able to move them to a
sub-group, and Lugnet is one of the few places where the
compartmentalization allows for such.
In short: Keep it; it's good.
If you care to debate my view on this, please use ot.d, which you will note
is where I have followed up to...
