I hope that someone at LEGO is listening.  There's nothing wrong with the
tub inside (the brick selection is a great value

Actually, I disagree. Out of the 1000 pieces in this tub, more than 300 are
1x1 bricks. That's waaaay out of proportion! Although I am happy to have my
1x1 supply replenished after last year's complete lack of them, you can have
too much of a good thing and parents/kids buying that tub to build with are,
IMO, not getting a good deal. Here's the Peeron inventory:

Actually, I think I agree with Alan on this one.  There are those who
wanted bulk packs of 1x1 and 1x2 bricks from Shop @ Home.  You can get
the 1x4, 1x6, and 1x8 from there.  This is a good way to stock up with
the smaller sized bricks without buying a million sets to get the
basic bricks.

Though, I have to point out that the 1200 piece tub that came before it
was much better.  That had an excellent mix of bricks.  I am very disappointed
that Lego used the "loss leader" excuse to cancel production on the 3033
tubs.

There are those of us, who probably could have used another 30 or 40 tubs
to make things.

Oh, and the printing on the "visual catalog" on my 4107 is just fine, the
colors are accurate. You must have got a badly printed batch, Allan.

I hate that catalogue...I bought 2 tubs, and successfully gave away the
"idea books" that came with them.

(...) But the problem is that the 4107 has been touted and hailed as a great general source of bulk bricks, which it certainly is not. If LEGO wants to offer 1x1's and 1x2's in a retail bulk bucket, let them do so. They shouldn't pretend that (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-02, to lugnet.general)
