Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Scott Edward Sanburn
OK, I guess I should have gave some more information. This is from Meijer, a huge retail chain in the Midwest mostly: (URL) I work there part time as my second job, and one of the big sellers of Meijer is that they have these mechanical horses near (...)         Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Scott Edward Sanburn
Steve, I work at #64, Ann Arbor Saline Road, in lovely Ann Arbor, Michigan. However, I like my primary job much better! :) Scott Sanburn (...) (25 years ago, 30-Apr-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Gary R. Istok
Wow, that's the Meijer I visit sometimes on my lunch hour. Scott, if you see a 6'3'' brown haired guy (with goatee type beard) shaking his head in disbelief in the LEGO aisle, that will probably be me. But since it's not your primary job, you're (...)          Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Scott Edward Sanburn
Gary, Hmm.. I go there once in awhile during lunch, but I am there at night pushing carts. It's the most no contact with the customers (guests in Meijer corporate lingo) job you can get in retail, and for 7 something an hour, it is not too bad. (...)         Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Christopher L. Weeks
(...) Does Michigan count as the Midwest? I'm in Missouri and kind of think of maybe Illinois as the edge of the midwest...but it seems that perceptions vary. (25 years ago, 30-Apr-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Scott Edward Sanburn
Well, Meijer is in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky. The rust belt, some call it. I have always heard it was the midwest, or Great Lakes region. Whatever! :) Scott Sanburn (...) (25 years ago, 30-Apr-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Bram Lambrecht
(...) I think Ohio is considered to be the first state in the midwest. I've never seen any Meijers around Cleveland, but there is a brand new Ames nearby, near a Target, Super K, TRU, etc. However, all those stores are about a half hour from my (...)         Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Steve Bliss
(...) Around here, we consider Michigan to be in the Midwest. Then again, when I lived in Arkansas, people there thought Arkansas was in the Midwest. And I *know* that Arkansas is in the South. Steven (25 years ago, 30-Apr-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Michigan is the very center of the midwest. Illinois is one state away from the edge. Ohio is in the midwest, for that matter, as is the western part of PA according to some people. :-) Missouri, on the other hand, is in the South. It's a (...)         Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —John Matthews
I would like to point out that Ohio is the center of the midwest, Michigan on the other hand is North of that (and doesn't count much for us folks down here).         Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Scott Edward Sanburn
To all, I just wanted to show the Lego model, and where it came from. I didn't think it would lead to a big discussion on where "midwest" was. It sounds apparent that different people from different regions have a different definition. I just it was (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-99, to lugnet.general)

[followups set to lugnet.loc.us] (...) Yeah, I count 7 articles here now on this thread discussion what "midwest" is. Probably a good time to take this over to .loc.us...it's getting pretty far off-topic for .general. (...) Well, everyone knows (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us)

Re: Meijer - Lego Horse —Gary R. Istok
OK, before I get into the Midwest topic, I'll discuss something LEGO related..... Macaroni bricks are not found in any Basic/Freestyle sets. OK, now back to the Midwest.... There is no easy answer. If you say that there are 4 areas of the USA, then (...) (25 years ago, 3-May-99, to lugnet.loc.us)
