Re: Who had the 5571 Inventory? —Scott Edward Sanburn
I agree with John concerning the current state that most Lego enthusiasts share, is the lack of bulk bricks from TLG, and the necessity of buying certain sets. I don't buy sets for the future value of them, I buy them to either have the set, or to (...) (25 years ago, 24-Mar-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Who had the 5571 Inventory? —Christopher Masi
(...) I'll go even further than saying the probelm is caused by the lack of bulk bricks. The bottom would fall out of the market for Metroliner's, Club Cars (I have seen these go for >$300!!!!), and Airport Shuttles and the like if LEGO would make (...)          Re: Who had the 5571 Inventory? —Todd Lehman
(...) I dunno. Call me crazy, but I think the prices on things like the Metroliner would go ***UP*** (not down) if LEGO made more "good sets." The more "good sets" there are in a theme, the more people want to collect that theme. The more people (...) (25 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Unless of course Lego rereleases it due to popular demand from lugnet ... :) You realise of course that your mentioning the set made me go and look it up on lugnet. Which made me think 'wow - that is a cool set - I want it'. Which will of course (...) (25 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

         Motorized 5571 —Rich Thompson
Was: RE: Who had the 5571 Inventory? I just got my 5571 last week and it was not only a very cool and detailed model, but a lot of fun to modify! I made it into a very cool RC Truck by adding a steering motor and a motor to the rear wheel carriage. (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.build)

Doh! RC off course is a misnomer. I guess this would be a IRC Car. The remote control was a quick kludge...if I didn't have so many other projects in my head I would spend some time on a cool remote. This works well inside and outside but does tend (...)
