In several weeks my web-page will finally be online!  I would like to know
what internet browser and desktop resolution most people use the most.  I
would assume Internet Explorer 5, and 1024x780 resolution.  Please let me
know if you use the same, or if your settings are different. Thanks!

(...) For day-to-day internet stuff I use an iMac set at 1024 x 768. I browse with Netscape 4.77. My windows tend to be set at full screen height with 3/4 screen width. please send follow-ups to lugnet.publish.html -Suz (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish.html)

Mozilla (0.93 as of this morning) and 1024x768. However, my browser is usually around 800x600. I'd strongly recommend making sure that your page fits in 800x600 and works fairly well on all of IE5, IE5.5, NS4.7, NS6, Mozilla, Mac IE (ver?), Mac NS (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)

My screen resolution: 1280 x 1024 Browser: Mozilla 0.9.2 or higher, if they release a new version. The best thing to do with a page is make it fit resolutions as small as, say, 640 x 480 or 800 x 600, but possibly be able to adapt bigger, and to (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)

I guess it's Mac day here at Lugnet, not that I mind... iMac running Netscape 4.76 and IE 5. resoultion 1024x768, but I, too, work with reduced sized windows so 800x600 is preferred. A warning to you however...if you optimize for IE and make it (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)

You have to allow it to be workable in 640x480 (ugh) I try to allow sites to be viewable in 640x480 although they are seldom pretty, then design the site so it'll work in 800x600 and look good. let it resize up from there James Stacey Senior (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)

I use IE 5.5 and Mozilla .9.3 with a 1024x768 res, allthough the the window is not allways maximized, and 32 bit color. But make sure it is workable in 640x480, and that it works fine in 800x600. And make sure it works for those weirdos who still (...) (23 years ago, 5-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) To reach the maximum number of people it is best to assume 640x480 with 8bit color with either NS3.x or IE3.x (stick to HTML2.0 and basic HTML3.0). It is also polite to create it in such a way that the browser can be resized without requiring (...) (23 years ago, 5-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)

This is quite the question for those designing web sites! There are a number of tracking systems available which would give you the opportunity to learn about the operating systems and browsers your visitors are using once you have your web page up. (...) (23 years ago, 6-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)
