I like receiving official letters from the TLG as much as the next AFOL.
But this one I dont understand
Did anyone else who uses Lego Shop @ Home receive this Letter?
(Its direct from Danmark, the stamp says Billund, Danmark KGL POST)
The followin is the exact reproduction of the letter I received.
Ive omitted the part written in Dansk because its reiterated in English.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LEGO Systems A/S 15 June 2001
Terms of payment and supplier information
During the summer 2001, LEGO Company will implement a global purchasing system.
For you this means that the terms of payment per 18 June 2001 still are/are
changed to:
Upon Receipt
To ensure updated supplier information, we need some information from you as
it will appear from the back of this letter. We kindly ask you to fill in
and return the scheme to us by the end of June 2001.
In connection with the implementation of our new purchasing system, we point
your attention to the fact that acknowledgement of an order, delivery note
and invoices have to contain a reference such as purchase number and/or name
and department of the person making the inquiry. We reserve the right to
reject invoices if this has not been fulfilled
Incase of any questions, please contact us by e-mail to
dkSuHyNi@europe.lego.com , alternatively by fax +45 75 33 19 35.
Med venlig hilsen/Best regard,
LEGO Systems A/S
Global Purchasing

Senior Director Director

The backside contains lots of personal info questions. They give me a
supplier number, they ask for an e-mail address for my financial dept/ sales
dept, head Office, Tax code 1 (Company tax number used for reporting to tax
authorities) CVR-numbe/Vat reg No. Bank, Branch, Region, Bank control key,
SWIFT code, and a bit more
O.K. now heres the questions:
They have all the necessary info from me, why do they require a Tax code,
Bank, e-mail address of finance dept, and lot of other stuff????????????????
(Do they think I'm a retail business who purchases their product for resale?)
And where do they want me to return the letter to?
Theres no return address
except; LEGO Systems A/S
DK-7190 Billund
Denmark
Youve gotta be kidin!
In conclusion, I opened the letter (just like any other letter from Lego)
expecting to receive a cheque from Lego because of a back-order canceled
notice for one of the items I wanted. And then I get this letter. Please
help me clarify! Is this due to the quantity I purchase? (I only spent
about $250 a month.)
Bewilderedly,
--==Richard==--
You can reach me @
Shroud_of_Kung_Fu@Hotmail.com
. -Lego good, Canada great-®
P.S. would there be any advantage in pretending to be a retail distributor?
(They gave me a Supplier no. and everything?)
Would I get a discount?
Would I receive inside product info? (Like advance copies of Harry Potter?)
I could pull it off. Create a bogus business open up a few mock bank
accounts
;)

| (...) "Richard's Head-Steppin' Constructions, Inc." Or do they think Canada is a company and not a country? :) (...) That's really, really, really weird. I've never even heard of a letter like that going out. Someone must have typed a 2 when they (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.theory)

| Clearly someone somewhere did type the wrong thing. (...) To me this means they think you are a supplier to the company instead of someone that needs a refund check. But I think you ought to go ahead and fill it out! Maybe they'll buy something from (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jun-01, to lugnet.general)
