I won the Christmas Challenge!  I am one of the grand prize winners!  Wait,
there weren't enough exclamation marks: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

The "Christmas Challenge" was this year's Advent game on www.lego.com.  Every
day from December 1 to December 24, you could play a little game of 'find the
brick', and every day you played, you would get entered in a daily drawing for
a $100 set.  At the end of the game, three players were chosen as grand prize
winners.  They would each receive the five sets they had marked on their lego
webclub wishlist.

On February 1st, I got an e-mail from TLG.  One of the people who had been
selected as a grand prize winner never responded to their e-mail (my thought:
don't change ISP's after an important contest).  I was selected on a second-
chance pick.  Wow!  I was so jazzed, I was floating on air for days.

:)

I had filled out my wishlist with the following sets:

9719 Mindstorms RIS
8480 TECHNIC Space Shuttle
4565 Freight and Crane Railway
6560 Diving Expedition Explorer
6977 Arachnoid Star Base

I could have padded it (when I filled it out, before winning) even more with
expensive sets (bar-code truck, maybe a Model Team set), but those were a good
balance between the different kinds of sets we like around here.

But John (that's the guy from "New Ways to the Consumer", which I guess is the
TLG group in charge of online presence) said that it could take a while for
the prizes to reach me, because he had to get ahold of them, and if they were
sold-out, it might take longer.  Then they had to be shipped from Billund.  So
I prepared myself for a long winter's wait.

:|

Yesterday, a delivery person from DHL arrived at our house.  This was pretty
unusual, DHL is not a common shipping method in the US.  It had to be my
wishlist sets!

:D

Unfortunately, Kristin was busy in the basement, and the boys didn't answer
the door.  ARGH.

:(

Today, Kristin told the boys they *had* to tell her if any delivery people
came by.  But they didn't.  Double ARGH.

:{:{

So we took a drive over to the DHL office, picked up the two travel-beaten
shipping cartons, and ...

:)

went to the museum.  :O

Then we went out to eat. 8O

*Finally*, we came home.  YEEHAAAA!  :):):)

I'm just the luckiest guy in the world tonight.

We hadn't told the boys ahead of time, so it was a complete surprise to them.
They were just amazed.  They're really excited about having *2* RCX's in the
house.  As soon as we got home, we built the train set.  Well, we built the
train cars.  Then the boys had to go to bed, and I didn't want to finish
building it without them.  Besides, I went on to the Space Shuttle.  I'm at
about step 7.

The dog and cat are really fascinated by the train cars making a slow circuit
around the minimal oval track. :)

Today, I'm happy.  Really, *really* happy.
